Jacqueline Townsend is a twenty-five-year-old transgender woman who lives in Los Angeles. Born in Egypt to a German father and Egyptian mother, her family moved to the US when she was five, where she then attended a private school for her early years of education. At thirteen, her parents sent her to an all boys boarding school with the intention of getting her the best possible education so she could grow up to be a successful doctor. Instead, Jac took the opportunity to explore herself and tread on every good Muslim rule her family taught her.

Jacqueline was born Jackson, and she always knew there was something different about her. She had a close-knit group of friends at boarding school who supported her throughout the many phases of her life. At fourteen she came out as gay, but even though being with boys felt right, there was still something wrong on her end. She struggled with depression and poor body image and could never truly understand what it was she hated about herself. She always leaned toward women's clothes, and she started crossdressing and experimenting with makeup in her teens. She was sixteen when she began to admit that she didn't feel comfortable as a boy, and from then on she began researching transsexuality and gender dysphoria, setting her on the path to understanding more about herself. She asked her friends to start calling her Jacqueline, and she began to dress in women's clothes when she wasn't required to wear the male uniform of her school.

Coming from a Muslim family, Jac hid all this from her parents until she graduated high school. The summer before she left for college, she came out as a trans woman, and her family took it extremely hard. Jac was determined to live her life as a woman, however, and she moved to Los Angeles to start a new life under a new identity. She still visits home occasionally, but her relationship with her family remains somewhat strained, with the exception of her brother, Kyle. He supported her, and continues to do so. He is currently in the Air Force, and they still try to talk every day. (Kyle is the one thing that can almost surely set her off or trigger a panic attack. Concern for his safety keeps her under a steady stream of constant pressure.)

Jac is currently in the process of transitioning. She presents as a woman and passes easily except when she's naked, being pre-operative. She has already undergone electrolysis, facial feminization surgery, and voice coaching. She considers herself heterosexual. She loves fashion and often dresses in bright colors and outrageous accessories. She dropped out of college after one year due to a struggle with depression, but two years later she went back and is now studying cosmetology and business. She works part-time at a salon and is saving up for sex reassignment surgery.

Jac is upbeat most of the time, if a bit sarcastic. Despite how it takes her a little time to open up to others about herself, she's a caretaker at heart, extremely friendly, and will offer a helping hand to anyone who needs it. She enjoys drinking a little too much and loves trashy TV. She still struggles with depression and poor body image, but she's working on it. She's looking for people that she can be honest with and trust fully.

For Anath's sake, her face is the very picture of graciousness despite what's running through her head. Still, she's trying to catch his eye in an effort to silently convey that she wishes to have several private, highly opinionated words with him about their temporary living arrangements.

[She can't think of anything worse than liking someone.

Okay, so, maybe she can, but as it currently stands, liking Adam is possibly the worst thing that's going on in her life right now. She has that giddy feeling people get when they meet someone new, complete with butterflies in her stomach and the uncontrollable urge to smile. And she likes it, she really does. But she also absolutely hates it, because it's dangerous and stupid and she can't believe she's doing this.

She wants to go on a date with him, a proper date - maybe dinner, drinks, a nighttime walk through the city, of course she hasn't spent way too much time thinking about this, why ever would anyone think that - but the very day they're supposed to meet up again, the razor she's using on someone's hair at work slips and she ends up with a gash on her hand the size of Mexico.

It's a superficial cut, no damage to anything important, but it's deep enough to require stitches and it bled enough to make her lightheaded even though she's not a squeamish person. As far as she's concerned, her date has been ruined before it even had a chance to begin.

With a sigh, she dials Adam's number and lifts her phone to her ear.
]

Hey, Adam? It's me. I think I have to cancel our date tonight. I'm in the hospital.

[OOC]

Backtagging: Yes.
Threadhopping: Yes.
Fourthwalling: If you absolutely must.

[IC]

Hugging this character: Yes. Just don't be put off if she doesn't reciprocate.
Kissing this character: Yes. It might take a while to happen because she proceeds very cautiously with these types of things. Drunk kissing might happen easier, though the results will probably be a lot messier.
Flirting with this character: Yes. She'll probably flirt back. This in no way indicates that she'll sleep with you.
Fighting with this character: She won't physically fight you, but I don't mind playing out scenarios where someone reacts to her like a jerk.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): You may injure her within reason (no permanent disfigurement). I'd prefer it to be part of an ongoing storyline so we can actually deal with this traumatic event! If something like ongoing torture needs to happen, we should talk about it first.
Killing this character: No.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Yes. Her reaction will depend on whether she thinks you'll out her or not.

Additional comments: Jac is transgender. She has body issues. Playing with her means you're probably going to hear about genitalia at some point, depending on the nature of the relationship. Once she does confide in your character (and this could take a good minute), she's going to talk explicitly about her body and what she wants it to look like. She'll discuss the effects HRT (hormone replacement therapy) have had on her and specifically what that means for her sex life. If a storyline ever gets to the point of SRS (sex reassignment surgery), there will be blood and pain and some medical grossness. Basically, it's gonna be a lot of TMI. She won't just bust out with all this, generally. It all depends on who she's talking to and if the scenario is right. If any of this is going to make you as a player uncomfortable, she might not be the best person to tag.
